Spider Vein Injections
Through sclerotherapy, Dr. Blanchard uses a tiny needle to inject a solution into the affected spider veins near the surface of skin on the legs. This causes the veins to scar and eventually fade away when blood flow is naturally rerouted after the veins are absorbed by the body. After, legs are free of unsightly veins and pain or itching that often accompanies this condition.
What to Expect
Possible effects and duration of treatments:
There is no downtime, and slight stinging during the procedure. Results are long-lasting or permanent. For more involved cases, patients may need more than one treatment. Dr. Blanchard asks patients to wear compression socks following the procedure to help the veins heal.
